Dortmund win 2-1 at Leipzig to stay top of Bundesliga

Jude Bellingham says his goal is to lift the title after Borussia Dortmund extended their perfect start to 2023 to four games with a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig on Friday.

The England midfielder scored the winner in the second half after Leipzig had taken the lead through an own goal from Mats Hummels.

Nico Schlotterbeck had earlier cancelled out Dominik Szoboszlai's opener for Leipzig.

The win keeps Dortmund top of the Bundesliga, two points ahead of Bayern Munich, who play at VfL Bochum on Sunday.

Bellingham's comments

"It's a great feeling to score the winning goal," Bellingham said after the game.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we showed great character to come back from behind and win.

"We're now top of the league and we want to stay there. We have a strong squad and we're capable of winning the title."

Dortmund's next game

Dortmund will be looking to extend their winning run when they host Hertha Berlin on Wednesday.

Leipzig, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back when they travel to Wolfsburg on the same day.
