Ashland, Ore. — A grass fire is burning along Interstate 5, south of Ashland, Oregon. The California Highway Patrol has closed all southbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 10.5.

The fire started at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire is burning in dry grass and brush. The flames are being fanned by strong winds, which is making it difficult for firefighters to contain the blaze.
